GENERAL QUESTIONS AND (maybe) SOME ANSWERS
What's a trading card game? A trading card game (TCG) is played using cards that are bought randomly and traded with friends (like baseball cards). Out of the hundreds of available cards, each player must customize a deck of approx. 30-60 cards. Each card has a unique ability or function in the game. A player's deck will have a distinct power and strategy depending on which cards were selected. Unlike traditional card games (i.e. poker), there is no central deck of cards that is dealt to all players. TCG players compete by playing their customized deck versus another player's deck. What is the Stoked TCG System? The Stoked! TCG System is the core operating system for all Stoked! trading card games. More simply, it is the rules (game mechanics) that dictate how the game is played. Each edition of Stoked! is interplayable with all past and future editions. Edition One "Skateboarding Must Die" comes in two parts. Part One takes place in Vegalas and Part Two takes place in Socalia. These, just like any edition, can be played separately or they can be combined and customized as you like. Once you learn how to play Stoked! you will never need to learn again. Do you really hate skaters? Of course not. If we did, we wouldn't have produced this game from WITHIN the skate community. We wouldn't have collaborated with Birdhouse Skateboards and we wouldn't have signed up Brian Sumner or Willy Santos. Once you discover more of the Stoked! storyline you will find that "Skateboarding Must Die" is the motto of the police department and anti-skater civilians that inhabit the different worlds presented in this game. It is not OUR motto. What's in a pack of Stoked! and how much does it cost? A bunch of stuff. You get 17 playable cards including 14 Vegalas or Socalia cards (depending on which you buy), 2 cash cards, and 1 RARE BIRDHOUSE CARD (with real Birdhouse graphics). You also get 1 random kicker (coin-shaped object), 1 rule sheet, 1 stoke ladder (to keep track of your stoke), and 1 random mini-poster. You get all of this for $3.99 MSRP. That the same price most of the other TCG companies charge you for 9 cards! What does the game look like? Is this game called 'Stoked!' or 'Skateboarding Must Die'? Stoked! is the game operating system. Every edition will be a Stoked! trading card game. 'Skateboarding Must Die' is the title of the first edition. 'Skateboarding Must Die' comes in 2 parts: Vegalas and Socalia. What are Vegalas and Socalia? Vegalas and Socalia are the first locations featured in the Stoked! TCG System. Vegalas is our version of Las Vegas. It's dark and sultry and filled with shady underground characters. Cash is very important in Vegalas. Socalia is our version of Southern California. It's bright and sunny during the day and warm and clear at night. Socalia is filled with beautiful women, big glass buildings, and nuclear explosions. Where can I get this game? You can always get this game at the 247 Online Convenience Store. Starting spring 2006 you will be able to get this game from retailers in your area. Who are Brian Sumner and Willy Santos? They are both highly recognized skaters who have had a significant influence on the skateboarding community for many years. What is Birdhouse?
